5 Ways To Say I Love You

Do you remember when you were a kid and your mom would leave you little notes in your lunchbox? Something like 'hope you're having a great day, I love you, mom'. They were completely unnecessary but her way of communicating with you even when you weren't together. Her way of letting you know that she cared even when she wasn't there to say it in person. As we grow up though, we're expected to just know that the people who love us, love us. But if you want to go the extra mile, here are a few suggestions of how you can.

1. Engraving jewellery:

Jewellery is always a nice gift to receive. To make the gift even more personal, some people like to have the recipients initials engraved in the item. Significant dates, or little messages also make nice engravings.

2. On their car while they're at work:

What could be nicer than receiving a love note on your windshield (or on your dashboard if your partner has an extra set of keys) after a long day at the office? It's the perfect way to say 'the day is done, now come home where you're safe and always loved'.

3. Writing them a song or poem:

Musicians, writers and artists tend to get creative when it comes to love. Love is one of the most inspiring things in the world, so it's no wonder that when in it, musicians might write a song and writers a poem about their loved one. For a lasting effect, you might want to print your poem or record your song and give it to your significant other. That way they will always have it on hand, whether or not you're around.

4. Sending flowers to their work:

People, women especially, love to receive flowers. Instead of reserving these occasions for birthdays, Valentines Day or anniversaries, why not send a beautiful bouquet on any old day? You can even include a little note that says, 'just wanted to say that I love you'.

5. Dedications:

Published writers, award winners, birthday boys and girls are all given the opportunity to say a few words of thanks. Some people use these instances to thank everyone who ever helped them in their life, or everyone who worked on a project, while others use them to thank just one special someone. It's always lovely to open a book and read a wonderful dedication someone wrote to their husband or wife, sons or daughters.

At the end of the day, it's the little things we do, it's the unexpected surprises that people appreciate the most. So get a bit creative and leave your mark in a way that will be remembered.
